Drills
Drills have been used since the stone age, so if it’s not something you already own it’s highly recommended. Only a standard drill is needed to complete most jobs on site, but one that has a built in hammer function can be useful for certain tasks. Drills can also switch between different drill bits quickly which makes them quickly adaptable.
To get the most value for money, a drill should be powered directly from the mains. While a cordless drill will allow you to drill holes wherever you please without being tethered to a wall, it can be more expensive due to the cost of batteries.
Hand Saw
A basic tool that all would-be home improvers should have. Even if you have a power-saw already, a hand saw can still be a useful tool to use for small and quick cutting jobs when you don’t want to have to use heavier, powered tools.
