Removing a Concrete Slab

Concrete slabs are usually introduced into a garden in order to support a shed. You may not think this would be an issue for most people but a lot of homes have small gardens of which a concrete slab can use a lot of the available space. So choosing to remove the platform to increase the size of the growing area in a garden is a common choice for home owners.

As you can imagine, removing concrete is by no means a simple task. A definite must for the task is using heavy machinery (unless the slab is less than 6 inches thick), so the overriding concern is safety. This means using protective shoes, gloves, and eye protectors, as well as a mask so you don’t breath in the dust. Using a jackhammer is the best way to remove concrete, but it is one of the most dangerous bits of heavy machinery around so you need to be trained in its use before attempting to do so.
